What is Aguatiello?
Aguatiello is a forum of people grouped thorough Internet, without political link that has been created to protest at the project of National Hydrological Plan (PHN) proposed by the Spanish Government. Why Aguatiello? Aguatiello is an aragonese word, which is used to name a hole done in the earth to allow water to enter and go out in order to irrigate the field. Using this word we mean the pressing need of imporvement of infraestructures in Aragon in order to use water from the Ebro river in the villages of this department. We think this water must be used in a ecological and strategical way, promoting saving water using new irrigation systems and avoiding the economical and spendthrift way of use proposed by this National Hydrological Plan. We demand a NEW CULTURE OF WATER. Who are Aguatiello?
What are the aims of Aguatiello? We think that during the last legislatures the parliament and parties have not been interested in the improvement of Aragon, in comparison with other departments in Spain. Therefore we think that now we have the word and we want to be listen by people, without preconceptions, and we want also to be treated by other areas in Spain as good as they have been treated by us.
We don't want to be judge without being listened. We only want to say the reasons why we are not agree with this National Hydrological Plan. When we created this web site we pretended to avoid this National Hydrological Plan, because it's very unfair and it's detrimental for Aragon and not very good for the rest of Spain. There are other possible options in order to solve the problem of lack of water in our country, and these options are cheaper, with less environmental and social impact and they respect all the deparments in Spain.
